CouchSurfer LLC (“CouchSurfer,” “we,” “us”) is a small, owner-operated business based in Mays Landing, NJ. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your choices. We try to keep it short and plain-English.

Information you give us

When you submit a form on this site (Free Couch Removal, Couch Finder, Reserve, Contact, Newsletter, or the ZIP delivery checker) we collect what you put in those fields:

• Name, email, phone, ZIP / address (whichever the form asks for)
• Photos of the couch you’re submitting (Free Removal only)
• Notes you choose to include

We don’t collect any sensitive categories of information (financial, health, government IDs).

Information collected automatically

We use Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to understand which pages visitors view and how the site performs. These services hash the visitor’s IP and don’t use cookies, set identifiers, or track you across other sites.

We also use PostHog (US Cloud) for product analytics — pageviews, on-site clicks, scroll depth, and a recording of how the page was used (with all input fields automatically masked). PostHog uses a first-party cookie to recognize returning visitors. We never share this data with advertisers.

How we use what you give us

• Reply to your inquiry, schedule pickups, and arrange delivery
• Send transactional updates about your reservation or pickup
• If you opt in to the newsletter, send occasional emails about new arrivals (you can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email)

We never sell or rent your personal information to anyone, ever.

SMS / text messaging

When you give us a phone number on a form (Reserve, Free Removal, Couch Finder), you consent to receive non-marketing SMS from CouchSurfer about that specific request — confirmations, schedule changes, follow-ups. Reply STOPto opt out at any time. Standard message and data rates may apply. We don’t send marketing texts.

Service providers

We share data only with the vendors that operate this site:

• Vercel — website hosting and analytics
• PostHog — product analytics and session recording (input fields masked)
• Airtable — internal records of your submissions
• Resend — transactional email delivery
• Shopify — checkout when you complete a purchase

Each is bound by their own privacy practices. We don’t share your data with anyone else.

How long we keep it

Form submissions are retained while your inquiry is active and for up to 24 months afterward (in case of warranty, returns, or follow-up questions). Newsletter subscribers are kept until they unsubscribe.

Your choices

• Access or delete: email us and we’ll confirm what we have on file or delete it.
• Stop SMS: reply STOP to any message.
• Unsubscribe from email: click the link at the bottom of any newsletter.

Residents of New Jersey, California, and other states with privacy laws have additional rights to know, correct, or delete their information. To exercise any of these, email us at the address below.

Children

This site is intended for adults. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Updates to this policy

We’ll update this page if our practices change and bump the “last updated” date at the top. Material changes will also be highlighted on the home page for 30 days.
